Book Tree
This is the tree that I created for my school library's December Magnificent Math estimating contest. I saw many similar trees posted on the lm_net listserv and from other Hillsborough County Media Specialists.
The students (K-5) will try to figure out how many books are in the tree. My favorite question so far - "Can I count them?" So I tell them, "If you can." It's certainly not cheating to try, but perhaps not as easy as it sounds...
